A nurse doffing (removing) PPE during Ebola epidemic
A registered nurse doffing (removing) PPE at Ebola Treatment Unit (ETU) in West Africa, 2015.
There were zero healthcare worker Ebola infections in the ETU using this technique.
Take note of:
- no touch technique
- team approach
- delineation between hot and cold zone
- You might be forced to rush due to operational demand. DONT!
The nurse in this video is Charmaine (Charlie) Dalton. She lost 15kg in sweat over 9 months. Now imagine trying to care for patients….
